Rushmark acquired a nine acre parcel that was located in a flood zone and had minor contamination. Rushmark remediated the contamination and built up the site to raise it out of the flood zone. Rushmark worked with the City of Alexandria to approve a plan to develop 67 townhouses and 535 multifamily units in two phases. Rushmark sold the townhouse lots to a national homebuilder and is building the first phase, Denizen, which has 336 units. Denizen will be cradled in a mixed housing community of townhouses and multifamily that is accessible to the Eisenhower Avenue Metro Station.
